Excellent performance, installation a snap, (What's this?) This unit performs just as advertised. The sata version eliminates the need for a bulky ribbon cable.
Burns DVDs not Coasters, (What's this?) Bought this 3 months ago. Pulled out the dead drive, put this one in, rebooted, started burning. Burns well. Have had no problems burning to Ritech Ridata DVD-R. I would buy another one.
Hmmmm...., (What's this?) Insofar that I can tell, it's a good DVD burner.

The problem is that if you are a little green about DVD burners (like your computer has never had one before), you may realize after buying it that the software it comes with, Nero 8 Essentials, is not enough. Nero 8 Essentials by itself will not allow you to watch DVD's on your computer or a host of other things. I wound up buying the full version Nero 9 ($50 with discount) to make up for the shortfall.
